It's our ISO9001 and ISO27001 recertification week where we focus on Quality and Information Security

It seems like Catherine has been preparing for months for our ISO9001:2015 and ISO27001:2013  recertifications.  This week, she's been working non-stop with ISO assessor Chris and our ISO consultant Kieran alongside our Telford team to provide evidence of our conformance to the standards.

Keeping our ISO certifications is a long and costly process, so why do we put ourselves through it?

ISO9001 has been the bedrock of our business since we started trading.  ISO9001 is a measure of an organisation's Quality Management System, essentially a guarantee that a company will work in an orderly, consistent and measured way.   Our software is used by hundreds of organisations every day and they rely on us to provide a consistent service.  Our Support Desk has never been busier, handling more than 1,000 tickets each month and we aim to deal with each one in a timely and professional manner.

ISO27001 ensures that we treat data and information within our custody with appropriate care and diligence.  It is an internationally recognised standard relating to Information Security specifically and there are not many companies of our size who have spent the time and money necessary to obtain the certification.

We won't know until the end of the week whether any non-conformances have been found, so please do wish us luck!

Thank you UKATA! What an amazing evening of fun, food and fabulous people including, and especially, Mavis & Ray Nye and the inspirational keynote speaker, Kriss Akabusi.

We won!  Not quite sure how, but we did!

It was the UKATA Awards evening, held every five years, and Mavis & Ray had a standing ovation when they were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. I don't think I've ever felt more heartfelt warmth and appreciation in a room.

We were so grateful to be awarded the Innovation Award for our contribution to the industry with our asbestos software, Alpha Tracker, and our OpenAsbestos data sharing initiative.

We've been notified that we've won the Best Business Software Development Firm 2023 - West Midlands award in the 5th Annual Facilities Management Awards.  We didn't even know we'd entered!!

The award nomination is for our OpenAsbestos industry initiative to make critical asbestos data more widely available, no matter which asbestos software system was used to capture it.  You can find out more about OpenAsbestos here https://www.openasbestos.org/.  By the way, asbestos software Alpha Tracker is fully OpenAsbestos compliant, naturally!

What a night! Alpha Legal at the Modern Law Awards 2022

We were delighted to attend the Modern Law Awards 2022 last night at The Brewery in London.  What a night!

Sponsoring the Boutique Law Firm award gave us the opportunity to meet so many of the other guests.  It was great to hear that many more legal businesses are now taking cybersecurity seriously and engaging with products such as Alpha Legal.

Our Sales Director Elaine presented the award to the winning firm Thrive Law.

What a night! Alpha Legal on the "top table" at the British Wills & Probate Awards 2021

The British Wills & Probate Awards 2021 were held last Thursday at the incredible Grand Hotel, Birmingham.

Alpha Legal director Elaine and product manager Dan were both seated at the "top table" with colleagues from our partners CTT Group and event host Jenny Bond.

It was our pleasure to be involved this year and we're already looking forward to the 2022 awards!

Start Software awarded "Top 50 in Tech"

That was a nice surprise!  Start Software has just been awarded "Top 50 in Tech" in the Acquisition International awards.

Start Software nominated for "Technology Firm of the Year"

One of leading publications in the building industry has nominated Start Software for their "Technology Firm of the Year" award reflecting our developments in the asbestos software market including our new Alpha Tracker app and our partnership with technology innovators Asbestoprobe.

We'll await the results with interest!

ICT Excellence Awards - We Won!!

We are all so excited and proud that at last night's ICT Excellence Awards we won the "Chair's Award for Excellence" for our Total Diet Management software product.Held at the National Motorcycle Museum, approx. 500 people attended a glittering awards dinner. The award recognised that Total Diet Management v3 (TDMv3) is innovative, has a potentially global market, and has benefits for the welfare of cows, the profitability of the farms and for the ailing dairy farming industry.

The brainchild of academic and dairy expert Peter Allen, TDMv3 was coded by Start's software developer Adam Dangerfield.

A great night and a great product - and a wonderful way to celebrate Start's 10th year of trading.
