Our Find & Replace feature in Alpha Tracker is becoming much more flexible and intelligent

We've had some feedback that our (really useful!) Find & Replace feature in Alpha Tracker would be even better if you could preview the changes it would make.  We've added that feature to Release 40.5, and also added checkboxes so that you can select which updates to make rather than having to accept all.

Here's a good example where "board" is being searched for (1) but you may not want "cupboard" (2) to be affected, too:

Our cloud provider has reverted a change they made at the weekend and this has resolved the issues we experienced with the Alpha Legal platform on 18 December 2023.

£29,500 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. We were glad to do our bit!

Our (dreadful) performance in the Coracle World Championships (see https://blog.start-software.com/2023/09/world-champions-what-great-day-and-such.html) has at least helped raise valuable funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Altogether, £29,500 was raised on the day.  What an incredible achievement!  Congrats to our skipper Zac and his team for contributing to a wonderful day of "sport" and fundraising.

Release 40 of Alpha Tracker is now available. Our December 2023 update has hundreds of improvements and new features

Our December 2023 update to Alpha Tracker and its companion app, Alpha Tracker Mobile, is now available.

Key updates include:

• Asbestos Registers are much faster
• Re-inspections generate more quickly
• Lots of improvements to Alpha Tracker Mobile
• New "Quick Edit" in Project List
• Surveys can now link to multiple templates
• The Alpha Tracker API has been enhanced
• SSO (single sign-on) is now available and is very flexible
• Sites can be "on stop"
• Importing is more reliable
• The water Client Portal has been enhanced.

We've said a fond farewell to Elaine. Thank you for everything, Elaine, and good luck in the future

Our former director Elaine Porter left the business on 30 November after a long bout of ill health.

Elaine started working for the business as a freelance sales agent in 2008 and showed amazing drive, energy and commitment to our company.  She became Robin's business partner and co-director in 2014 and helped the company grow each year afterwards.

Good luck, Elaine, and thanks for your 15 years of service to the company

Her health issues caused Elaine to leave the business at the end of November.  We'll miss her and wish her well for the future.

Another good (and busy!) month on the Support desk. 95% of tickets were resolved on time

November 2023 was another good month for our Support team.  They answered 727 tickets in total, and 95% were resolved in the timescales agreed with the caller.

Well done team! Great job.

Alpha Tracker at EAF 2023! We've thoroughly enjoyed the European Asbestos Forum conference and exploring the host city, Brussels

Alpha Tracker has been on the road this week, exhibiting at the European Asbestos Forum 2023 in Brussels, Belgium.

We've been meeting clients, talking to asbestos consultancies from Europe and beyond and listening to fascinating presentations from mesothelioma survivors and worldwide asbestos experts.

In addition, the conference organiser and host, EAF President Dr Yvonne Waterman, delivered a moving tribute to asbestos campaigner Mavis Nye in her opening remarks.  Mavis recently passed away after being diagnosed with Mesothelioma in 2009 and her portrait took pride of place on the conference stage.

After the conference, the portrait is heading to the Asbestos Museum in Rotterdam to be placed on display.  Mavis visited the museum last year and it made a huge impression on her and Ray.
