2009/10 - Start Software's best year ever

We're just closing our books for the financial year Oct 2009 - Sept 2010 and it looks like we've had our best year yet.

Turnover is up an amazing 50% on the year before and % profit has held up pretty well too:

We've expanded into a second software development office (based at the University of Wolverhampton's e-Innovation Centre in Telford) and a major new software project is well under way.  We also now have a London (virtual) office for use for meetings, training etc.

Trading conditions are still difficult with customers taking much longer to pay, on average, than in previous years but our markets held up in the recession pretty well.

Thanks for your support and business this year - our success is down to your custom and your belief in us and our products.  We all look forward to working with you throughout 2010/11.

Alpha Validator update released

The automated survey data checking feature within asbestos software Alpha Tracker (known as "AlphaValidator") has been updated again.  This follows on from the update released on 11 December (more info here ). an example of AlphaValidator's data check output This update - v1.0.74 SVN25 - is ready now to download from our website and improves the way photos of asbestos samples are validated . Please do contact the Start Software Support Desk  (available 24x7!) if you would like help installing the update.

We are open for business as usual throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Thursday 24 December: Office closes at 4pm Friday 25 December: Closed Monday 28 December: Closed Tuesday 29 December: Open with reduced staffing levels Wednesday 30 December: Open with reduced staffing levels Thursday 31 December: Open with reduced staffing levels Friday 1 January: Closed As usual, we are not sending Christmas cards to clients but instead we are donating to our favourite charity, the RNLI . We wish all of our customers a Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
